The Bellator FC champion Pat Curran is trying to make himself busy after he has successfully defended his Bellator MMA featherweight title twice. He recently defended it against Shahbulat Shamhalaev at Bellator 95 and before that, he won over Patricio “Pitbull” Freire by a split decision at Bellator 85 to retain his title.
Now, the champion is waiting for his next title defense this time against Daniel Straus which will probably happen by fall. In the meantime, Curran will try to his luck as a pro boxer, to which the Bellator has given him the green light.
In an interview, Curran said, “Bellator’s cool with it – they’re letting me step away from MMA and make my boxing debut, and that says a lot for them.”
