Glory Sports International Acquired It’s Showtime

Glory Sports International has reportedly acquired its rival MMA promotion, It’s showtime recently.

“By adding It’s Showtime, Glory has truly established itself as the No. 1 Kickboxing league in the world. This is what the fans have been waiting for, and we are here to deliver it. Glory will soon announce a new series of events and a modernized tournament format for the rest of the year and for 2013. The match possibilities will create some amazing fights and fans will truly see the best competing against the best across all weight classes. We are changing the landscape of this global sport,” this is what the managing director of Glory Sports International, Marcus Luer has to say after GSI acquired It’s Showtime.

As a result of this acquisition, the roster and assets of the acquired promotion will now fight for the Glory World series promotion. Among the notable fighters that the Netherland based promotion have showcased were Alistair Overeem, Luis Ramos and Siyar Bahadurzada.

Last May 26, the promotion held one of its events in Stockholm and featured Ilir Latifi and Tony Lopez.
