Ildemar Alcantara Defeated Eder Jones in Jungle Fight 41

Ildemar Alcantara defeated Eder Jones at the main event of their Jungle Fight 41 event in Prudente de Moraes Municipal Gymnasium in Itu, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

With the win, Alcantara will advance to the quarterfinal for the promotion’s middleweight title grand prix.

Alcantara seemed to control the fight when he clipped Jones and mounted on Jones’ back sixty seconds in the opening round. But Jones slipped out and tried to throw punches and kicks late in the round.

Jones in the second round was a different animal except for the takedown attempt made by Alcantara a minute to go before the end of the round. The final round, Jones came out strong, throwing everything that he got, but not enough to finish the fight and convince the judges.

Two judges scored the bout in favor of Alcantara while the other one gave it to Jones, awarding Alcantara the winner by split decision.
